That didn't mean he was down though, he'd never felt so alive, well maybe when he was younger and he'd make up adventures in his head, but this was an entirely new adventure and everything was making him curious. He'd spent most of his time just observing people trying to work out what they were doing and why. Right now however he was standing at the top of the astronomy tower leaning off to look down at the ground, just trying to get a good idea of how high up he was.
When he realised how high up he was he took a few steps back deciding it wouldn't really be the best start to his time at Hogwarts if he were to fall off and die, in fact that wouldn't be a start at all. Arthur had however not expected the wind, which had completely blown his usually nicely kept hair all over the place to the point where no matter how much he'd try it'd always go back to being messy. He also hadnt expected the cold but luckily he had a jacket so that hadnt been much of an issue, that being said he wasnt sure who's jacket it was, he presumed josh's as it had ended up in his luggage and he couldnt see it fitting someone else, unless it was actually a womans jacket and it was Beth's or Evie's.
Arthur then sat down on the floor and began to question why there was nobody around the actual tower, he sat there pondering, maybe the door's magically lock after a certain time. He stood up and rushed to the door, nope still open. Arthur then began to pace, it would help him think, maybe someone let off a stink bomb on the stairs so nobody would go up them or maybe everyone else was just in lessons, it couldnt be that though or else an astronomy lesson would be taking place.
Arthur thought for a while until he realised the astronomy tower was probably off limits when lessons aren't happening, due to the hight being dangerous. With this thought came the thought that he was actually breaking the rules, without even meaning too, he then realised he could be the first Dalton to get a detention, that could be interesting, he could see what the punishment at Hogwarts is like and he could use it against Beth and Josh if they ever tried to tease him for being a Hufflepuff, what kind of Slytherins were they if a Hufflepuff beat them at breaking the rule, not a stereotypical one at least.
He smiled to himself, finding that breaking the rules was a little bit of a thrill, especially when he didnt know the consequence, he'd got used to how his parents would punish him, he knew what he was in for but this time he didnt. With a smile he wandered back over to the edge of the tower and looked down, trying to make out the little people going about their business below him.

annie was tired. it had been almost a week since the birth of her child. amelia was growing much more steadily and the worries that annie and trevor had shared that first few days were slowly seeping away, and it was turning into excitement for annie, to finally bring her baby girl home. today, trevor had been assigned to baby watch so that annie could run down to the school to pick up some work to try and catch up whilst she could, because she had to do some work on her apartment to make it baby proof, and then of course there would be the fact that she had to take care of her baby wholely. she'd had help from the nurses that first week who had been monitoring her progress and helping annie out with it all. amelia had started crying in the nights and annie had taken to the midnight feeds thing, although it was costing her with sleep. sometimes she still had to remind herself it was all real, and would sit there for a while, watching amy slip off into sleep. she was so beautiful, annie had never expected to feel this way when this had all started. she was already so protective and so attached it took a lot of time for her to actually be able to leave. annie couldn't wait for the day that she could just take amy with her. but for now, not possible, and so annie was alone. annie walked the corridors of st mungo's with ease, hoping she wouldn't run into her mother. she hadn't spoken to annie since the day annie had told her about the baby and if she'd heard about annie coming in she'd made no attempt to visit her grandchild. once she reached the entrance to the place, she was away from any patients that she would disturb, and so therefore, was ready to make her exit. she hoped no-one cared too much about the resounding crack that occurred when she quite literally left the building. seconds later, the cobbled streets of hogsmede were laid out before her feet, and he walked with purpose, heading toward the gates of the castle. she looked good. whilst amelia was sleeping, usually in the morning and evening, annie had taken to pushing herself into running again, and so her baby weight had started falling off. she still had a little more than usual, but she was getting back into the shape that she had been nearly nine months ago. that was unbelieveable that she hadn't been this weightless for months. all for good cause though, and annie loved what she had to show for those months.
as annie approached the towers of the castle, she looked up to one particular tower that she often visited whilst she had been pregnant. it was the quietest tower ever, when lessons weren't going on there, and it was the perfect place to think about everything without being interrupted. and so, annie was sidetracked, and once within the castle, she headed instead for the astronomy tower. a quick detour wouldn't do much harm she thought to herself, climbing all the steps until she reached the top. when she opened into the tower, she saw someone else there, someone she recognised, and she smirked. putting on her best 'high and mighty mean teacher' impression, annie cleared her throat. you are not supposed to be here. detention." she mimicked something that she'd had said to her numerous times in the past, and smirked, waiting for arthur to turn around and realise who it was. he wasn't usually a rule breaker, and it was very interesting to see him doing something against the rules.

It was actually a pretty good excuse seeing as he'd made it up completely instantly, he then turned to see who it was he was addressing hoping it was someone who would just let him off. He relaxed a little when he noticed Annie, he smiled at her then turned his head to look out towards the horizon.
"Hey" he said simply, unsure what to actually say to her, he'd got that she was joking about telling him off from the expressions on her face, or at least he hoped so he was still working on the trying to work out peoples feelings and body language and stuff like that. "If you're serious about me not being allowed up here.. it's a bit too late to stop me being here so i may as well stay for a little while.. you're welcome to stay" he told her with a small shrug, he knew it was polite for him to invite her to stay but he didnt really mind he figured if he hadnt have said that she'd have probably stayed if she wanted too anyway.
"I like your hair by the way" he added then felt like he had to give some sort of reason for him liking it. "It's.. cute?" he told her with a shrug, he wasnt sure what the hell cute was, he wasnt really sure why he liked her hair, it was just new and Arthur always tended to like new things.

[/div] we will make a brand new start from pieces torn apart THE BREAK OF DAY IS BEFORE US, CAST YOUR SORROWS TO THE WIND [/div] annie also had to feed her cat. she couldn't lie that merlin had to take a back bench recently in her life, but she did have a baby to look after, and as soon as everyone was out of the hospital and normal life returned, annie would be back on track with feeding him and everything. and she couldn't wait either. they were in the process of moving her into trevor's apartment. once this was all done, annie would hand the keys into her landlord, who had given her as much time as she needed, within reason of course, for her to get this all sorted. she'd explained the situation to him to get such a result, and he'd been very kind to her under the circumstances. annie was greatful that trevor was letting them into his home and everything, she was also glad that he wanted to help support amelia and also, supporting annie, and had offered to do so without annie having to ask. not that she would have asked, annie was too proud and would have dropped out of school sooner than ask him for help, but he'd offered and annie liked that he seemed to care so much. that would probably be because she cared too much about him.
"chill, you don't need to use excuses with me, i don't give a crap either." annie stated, waving it off and crossing to where arthur was, and leaning a little over the rail. annie took in the view that the astronomy tower had to offer and annie smiled. she'd missed the school, it was like her home after all, and she was sure merlin missed it a little too, but there we go. she'd probably have to talk to the headteacher to get his permission to go back to the apartment every day so that she could continue her education and also be there for her child, who was now her number one priority, naturally. she was putting this off, thanks to feeling a bit intimidated by the new head. but annie would never admit that out loud or whatever. "i'm not serious, don't worry, just testing your reactions. nice excuse by the way, you probably would have gotten away with that. maybe be a bit more apologetic." annie advised, pausing, before demonstrating. "really? i'm so very sorry professor, i don't know if you know this, but i'm new here, and i kind of got lost and didn't know where i was and then... it won't happen again i promise" she finished with a smirk. she'd used that as best she could in her seventh year. "thanks, i like your attitude to rule breaking, though i don't know if 'cute' is an appropriate word for that" she said, smiling at arthur. "my hair suits me i think. although, shall we test that, what do you think it says about who i am?" annie asked, raising her eyebrows and wondering how spot on this would be. she was sure that it wouldn't indicate the fact that she was now a mother, although nothing else about her would, other than the small bump that she still had yet to lose, not very well hidden under her t-shirt. a different type of baby fat to the type she'd had in the past. Arthur then thought about that for a while wandering if anyone was actually that stupid then he decided people who would want to kill themselves would also probably be a reason that students aren't allowed up here, but if they want to die, shouldn't they be able to. Arthur was about to ponder that thought but decided it wasn't the time and place, he was with company and didn't want to seem rude.
"That sounds way too forced, it looks like you planned it" Arthur pointed out, he knew a thing or two about apologizing, whenever he did anything wrong he'd spend ages working out how to apologize, practice it in the mirror and then perform it and he'd perfected it over the years, with parents like his it was best to actually seem like you regret it a lot otherwise. "A good fake apology is all in the facial expressions, not what you say" Arthur told her, the way he looked at the world was a lot different to most people, he looked at the facts a lot more than the feelings and the fact with apologies is you can feel it as much as you like you just have to appear to be feeling it.
Arthur studied her hair for a moment before answering her question "You're kind of loud, confident, you don't really care too much about what people think.. and you like the color red" he told her with a small shrug and a look on his face questioning his correctness, if he was right maybe his person analysis skills were getting better, even if you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover.

[/div] we will make a brand new start from pieces torn apart THE BREAK OF DAY IS BEFORE US, CAST YOUR SORROWS TO THE WIND [/div] Annie always loved the view from up here. She'd have loved to lean over the railings and shout at the top of her lungs, but she knew that it was likely that someone might hear and then she'd be stuck in detention, and she had Amelia to think about. Detention wasn't such a big thing before, but now she had someone who needed her, and Annie had to split her time wisely. She was going to try her best to make school and motherhood work, but if it wouldn't work out well enough, she knew she'd have to drop out of school, and then there was trying to juggle a job and a baby. Neither was easy but she had to try and make something work. She was a mother now, and it wasn't like she could live without money anyway. Trevor had made good on his promise to move her in and help her out though and he was going to support her. She could see some sort of future for them now, and Annie was so glad he'd come back. She didn't know if she'd ever be able to tell him because of her pride, but she'd been totally freaking out about how she was going to manage. He'd been a lifesaver.
"Please, all I have to do is bat my eyelashes and say that and they'd be in the palm of my hands!" Annie said with a little laugh. "Actually, I believe it's tone of voice that seals the deal. If you can get the perfect apologetic tone going, then that's all you need." Annie voiced her opinion. She'd had plenty of practice too, to actual teachers to try and get herself out of detention when it would mean she'd be stuck missing practice. Annie missed quidditch, and that thought reminded her of it. She sighed, knowing though that what she'd given it up for was more than worth it. Amelia was the best thing that had ever happened to her, even if her father was a douche. At least he was a cute douche. They'd also made a very cute baby. And she was a baby that Annie couldn't stop thinking about. Annie couldn't wait to do all the cool parent stuff like taking her to the park and shouting at other kids when they tried to push her around and all that stuff. Annie was determined to be an awesome mom. "Well done. You're pretty good. So, whatcha say, want to know some more about me?" Annie asked, deciding that this kid was pretty cool and she'd like to know more about him. "I'll be honest, I think you're pretty cool. And I'd like to know more about you. Not that I'm hitting on you or anything. Not that you're not cool enough to hit on, it's just I'm pretty screwed up in that department at the moment and so yeah.. uh. Wow, rambling. Change of subject please?" Damn it, she'd caught verbal diarrhoea from Trevor Schumacher. Damn him.[/div] ARTHUR'S THREAD. WEARING THIS. BRAND NEW START BY ALTER BRIDGE.
