Dont be shocked by the tone of my voice. Salazar was finally going to get his hands back on his old wand, it felt good being out and he was almost there, he'd changed into something a little more current and was hoping that would help him blend in a little more, not that he could blend in very well where he currently stood. He stood in a fen, one he knew well and there wasn't a soul around except for him and his 'babysitter'. He wished he could have just come and got his wand alone but apparently trust was too much to ask for so he had to be accompanied. He'd spent most of the journey in silence mainly just not acknowledging her presence although now they were close he felt more relaxed, his worries that someone would have built over where they were going were eased and he was in an area he felt comfortable in.
"So, babysitter, what's your name?" he asked stepping over a dead fallen tree. "Oh, and watch out for snakes" he added as an afterthought, it hadn't even occurred to him that the snakes wouldn't remember him so they would probably just attack on site. He could tell it wasn't long now, soon he'd have his wand resting in the palm of his hand and they could return to Hogwarts, there was a part of him tempted to just not return to Hogwarts and to go and explore the changes of the world he'd known but that was probably why he was accompanied.
He figured if he wished to he could probably escape from her, the grass was tall and would make her view limited and there were plenty of pools that would block her way as well as thick mud which was incredibly difficult to get through, Salazar however had grown up with those conditions and knew how to make his way through a fen with ease. He was close know, he could feel it in his bones. There was something missing however, his wand rested in a wreckage by a tree, but at this point the tree should have been in site. Salazar carried on forward his eyes scanning above the grass when the grass in front of them stopped. There lay the tree, crushing the grass beneath it. Salazar climbed upon the tree's trunk and reached out his hand for his companion to help herself up. He may have been considered one of the most evil wizards of all time but he had always had manners, especially when it came to women. "We're here"

Evelyn had to be crazy to be going through with this. Salazar Slytherin was one of the people she should be avoiding at all costs and yet she had volunteered herself to go with him, alone, to go and find his wand so he could cast magic to his full potential. Eve's understanding of the situation was that there was a hell of a lot of potential there and reuniting him with the object that would unleash that was probably the worst move she could have ever made. If she'd consulted Nathaniel about the whole thing before putting herself forward then she would have realised what a stupid mistake she had made. But nevertheless, she would accompany Slytherin.
If the conflicts between the founders and the Nex Domino escalated to a full scale showdown then now was when Salazar would be at his most vulnerable. Even when wielding her own wand while Salazar had no choice but to use a different one, she'd have found it difficult to beat him though she was confident she could at the very least hold her own. One didn't live for nearly two hundred years without having spent a great deal of time developing their magical ability. Though they might not have been evenly matched for their duelling skills, Eve was indefinitely stronger and faster than he was. The man that had attacked her all those years ago had seen to that and while she would prefer to not need it, those abilities were the very reason she had been recruited into the Nex Domino and she would utilise them if all else failed. If she stood no chance at all then disapparition was always an option.
But for the time being she would play along. Her shoes had been an equally foolish decision and so Evelyn had cast a charm upon them to harden the thick mud as she stepped upon it so as to prevent her sinking in or getting stuck. She glanced around quickly as the two of them arrived at the fen before returning her attention to the other wizard. "Evelyn Matthews, History of Magic professor," she replied, ignoring his reference to her being his babysitter. Even with her extended shelf life, she was a baby in comparison to him. "If I can manage you then the snakes won't be a problem." Evelyn continued to follow him before stopping as they reached a tree. She rejected his hand and made her own way up onto the fallen trunk, maintaining as much elegance as was possible in heels and a dress. "I'm a woman, not a child, don't treat me like I'm incapable of doing things for myself," she replied sharply, understanding that it had been a gesture of politeness but knowing he wouldn't have done so if she were a man.

Dont be shocked by the tone of my voice. Salazar let out a small chuckle as the words 'History of magic' left her mouth, he wasn't trying to insult her it was just somewhat amusing to him. "Back in my day that was called current events" he said with a smirk, he was so old yet still so young, it was weird, his mind was much older than any normal man yet he was physically young and fit. He decided not to think about it to much deciding it could potentially screw his brain up a bit. He made a mental note of her name then turned his attention to the environment knowing where he had to go but just taking the time to take in the sites for a short while.
"Your feisty, i like that.. but who say's you can handle me?" he asked raising an eyebrow and turning to look at her then jumping off the tree trunk. "Fine" he stated to her needing help truth was he'd have done the same to anyone, male or female, he had never discriminated against sexes or even different sexual preferences, he simply didn't trust muggles or muggle borns but he had realised by now he would have to just deal with it as muggle borns are a prominent part of magic society these days.
Salazar didn't bother helping her down from the tree, he knew she didn't want his help so he wouldn't give it her. He strolled over to where he knew is wand should be. They stood in the wreckage of a shack nothing much left of it but some wood, some stone and two wooden crosses just outside of the wreckage. Salazar bent down against the ground and patted it several times before speaking parseltounge to the ground. He then stood up.
"Okay now we wait, a snake of some sort should arrive in a moment, i will have to speak to him or her then he or she shall fetch my wand and we shall be able to return to Hogwarts" he explained knowing she'd probably have no idea what the hell he was just doing seeing as she probably didn't speak parseltounge. Salazar sat himself down on the ground cross legged "So.. as a History of Magic Proffesor you must have some questions you want answered huh" he said knowing the founders would probably be answering a lot of questions in the net few days, maybe Salazar was probably not the best person to ask, that would probably be Rowena, she could word things much more simpler and make everything complicated seem easy until you attempt it yourself.

Evelyn forced a weak smile as Salazar tried to make a joke out of her subject. It wasn't funny and it certainly wasn't appreciated. If the founders were as smart as they were humourous then the Nex Domino would be able to get rid of them with no trouble at all. Why did they even feel they needed to be there? They hadn't tried to make a comeback over previous troubles concerning headteachers, such as the Dumbledore's assassination, and yet they had decided they needed to get involved when nobody had even died? Okay, so Dalton had probably ended up worse than dead and nobody knew if Malfoy was still alive or not but they shouldn't have acted without any proof. Besides, what made Styx any worse than any of his predecessors? He was leading the movement that was going to get her freedom instead of having to up stakes and leave every ten years with no chance to make friends or fall in love without knowing she'd have to leave them without sufficient explanation. He certainly had her vote.
"If I wasn't capable of keeping you in line then I wouldn't have been sent to supervise you, which makes Professor Styx the one that says I can handle you," she replied, not at all pleased that he doubted her capability. Did he really think so highly of himself? Sure, he was one of the greatest wizards of his age but his age was long gone. Nowadays his skills were probably little more than average, especially as he hadn't lifted a wand for over a thousand years. Eve on the other hand had been casting spells almost every day for nearly two hundred years. Even if he was as brilliant as the legends claimed, she was certain enough in her own abilities to know that she could at least hold her own against him.
Evelyn remained several steps behind him as they approached the shack, raising an eyebrow as he started hissing at the ground in what she assumed must be parseltongue. Intending to strike him down while he was distracted, the vampire raised her wand but he turned around before she had a chance to use it. So as not to look suspicious, she immediately cast a hex at a toad hopping towards her and it exploded in a shower of red sparks. "I can not stand toads. Why anyone would want to keep one as a pet is beyond me," she said, paying little attention to the fact that they had become increasingly unpopular over the years.
"Could you not have just left it somewhere from which you could retrieve it yourself?" she asked, regrettably commending his colleagues for their sense to leave their wands where they could easily find them. Wandering out to a shack into the middle of the fens and then calling upon a snake to fetch it seemed like excessive complications to what should really have been simple. "Oh no, I shalln't interrogate you so soon after we first met, that would just be rude. I'll leave that task to my students, I'm sure they'll all be dying to write about founders for their "famous figures" coursework." Besides, Eve needed to be careful. If she'd thought the whole thing through, she could have organised an ambush but now there was no safe chance to finish Slytherin off. Killing him would have to wait until there was actually a plan. "So how long is it likely to take?"

Dont be shocked by the tone of my voice. Salazar smirked at her smile, it was possibly one of the weakest smiles he had seen in a long time. He wasn't trying to amuse her though he was just enjoying the freedom, not that he had much seeing as Evelyn was with him. He couldn't blame anybody for worrying about his return though. He just wished somebody who appreciated him a little was accompanying him as he was certain that Evelyn didn't.
"Oh and i'm sure Styx knows every little detail about me" he said sarcastically, nobody but himself knew everything about him and that's the way Salazar liked it."Dont worry i'll be a good boy" he told her, he would for now but he wasn't afraid to play dirty if he had to. Salazar had no idea what was going on behind him and how close he'd got to loosing his life a second time, why he turned to face her was also unknown he had just done it naturally, it felt rude having your back turned on a guest.
Salazar shrugged he didn't have a clue why people would have a toad as a pet. He then watched the remaining red sparks vanish. He shook his head slightly and mumbled "What a waste", the toad didn't need to die, it wasn't causing anyone any harm and now it didn't even have any remains so it couldn't provide any nourishment for anything.
"I am retrieving it myself, I've just got a little help from some friends, nothing wrong with using a little help" he told her, he knew for certain there wasn't a place on earth he felt safer hiding something important to him. "Oh fun, it's about time somebody listens to my stories, like the time i stopped a giant trampling an entire town to the ground" he told her with a smile, it was a lie but oh well he was going to have a lot of fun making up stories about his past.
"Not long, they're working out what tunnel to bring it up" he told her, that's what he could tell at least, he was slightly surprised one of them hadn't come up to see him but he figured it wasn't often a man came asking for his stuff in parseltounge so they probably knew exactly what was expected of them. It took a while but eventually a snake slithered out of a small hole in the ground and let him know where his things were.
Salazar jumped up, thanked the snake then began to the fallen tree, turning to Evelyn after a few steps as he realised she had no idea what was going on,"My wand is waiting in my satchel by that tree we climbed over" he told her then headed to the tree.
There was his satchel, he threw it on, rummaged inside and pulled out his wand, there were a few less important things inside, a few faded books and some other things of no significance to anyone but him. Salazar pulled a twig off the fallen tree and buried it underground, he then cast a spell on the buried twig and watched as a tiny sapling sprouted from the ground. "Ok, I'm ready to be escorted back, lead the way" he told her, he wished he could explore a little but she wouldn't let him so there was no point dilly-dallying.

"He doesn't need to know you if he knows me," Evelyn replied with a wink. Of course, that was entirely untrue for two reasons - he did need to know Slytherin and he didn't know Eve as well as he might like to think. For one, she hadn't mentioned her daughter to anyone but the flying professor and that had only been because they had bonded over their vampirism. Amber had been one of the main reasons that she had returned to Hogwarts when she had been visited with the proposition by Nathaniel. She wanted more than anything to know what had become of her and Hogwarts was the only logical place to start. As a historian, she knew how to track down information about people, dead or alive, and she'd had many years to perfect this skill. Archives were her best friend. Then, of course, there was the first point. They would be extremely foolish to underestimate a wizard that had prepared an enchantment to resurrect himself that had been successful even after a thousand years whether they wanted to admit it or not.
"You don't honestly expect me to believe that, do you?" Evelyn could think of no plausible reason as to why he would protect a town from a rampaging giant. If anything, she'd expect him to stand at the side and cheer it on. The smile on his face seemed evidence enough that he'd made it up and would continue to make things up to see how much would be believed. "Oh, of course, the tunnels. Always a difficult decision that one," she said, her serious expression quite clearly false and sarcastic. Eve merely watched from where she stood as he collected the satchel from the tree, strangely grew a sapling and then announced he was ready to leave.
The professor walked towards him and stopped a couple of steps short. "You know these modern clothes really don't suit you, right?" she told him, having never expected to see Salazar Slytherin in a leather jacket and converses. Once she was finished in her critique, she took one final step, closed her hand around his wrist and apparated to the gates of Hogwarts. She let go immediately as they arrived and strode towards the wrought iron barriers, flicking her wand at them to release the magical chains shutting the two of them out. She pushed one of the gates open enough for them to walk through before turning back to the founder. Once they were both on the right side of the gates, she flicked her wand at the chains again to seal the gates back up. "Now run along, I'm sure the other founders have got plenty for you to be doing."

Dont be shocked by the tone of my voice. Salazar let out a laugh "Oh you are so wrong" he told her, it was much more important to understand your enemy luckily Salazar didn't consider either Jonathan or Evelyn an enemy, not yet anyway. Salazar didn't know who his enemies were and who they weren't so he'd decided the only people he could trust were the other founders and his chosen student, everybody else needed to still earn his trust.
"No, you're far too smart, it was actually just a farm" he lied again with a smirk, he wasn't trying to fool her, he was just having some fun and any confusion about his past that sprouted was just a little added bonus. Salazar liked her sarcasm he could almost hear himself in her words, maybe if they would have met under different circumstances then maybe they could have got along well. "I wish they were big enough for me, i love a good tunnel" he let her know with a wink.
"Well i don't want to stick out" he told her, he liked being able to blend in and be stealthy then as an afterthought he added "besides, it makes my rear look great" whether that was true or not was a matter of opinion. Then they apparated, Salazar didn't like it at all, he never had liked any kind of teleportation magic. He much preferred just travelling. He didn't complain though, to show any kind of weakness in front of somebody he barely knew would be stupidity. "I'm sure they do, goodbye Evelyn" he said taking her hand, kissing it then walking away only stopping to say "Oh and please enjoy the view as i walk away" referencing to his earlier comment about his rear. He then headed off to find another founder and announce his safe return.
