This feeling that she had wasn't a nice one. She knew that soon enough she'd cheer up though, after all, she was heading out to the pitch to do what she enjoyed the most. Quidditch had always been in her life, her father had been beater on the Gryffindor team, so she was in the same position on the team as he was all those years ago. He gave it up though, it was too much for him, what with schoolwork, exams, and flirting with Annie's mother all the time, he didn't have much time for practice. The first time Annie had been on a broom was her dad's old one in a field far away from anyone. He let her have a little go, but only flying low at first so that she didn't hurt herself. Of course she didn't listen and always tried to go a bit higher than he wanted her to, but that was just how she was. She craved the freedom, and before long she was begging him to take her back out. He did a few times too, and then before she knew it, she'd been whisked off to Hogwarts, sorted into Gryffindor and was thrown into flying class. It was a relief to be reunited with that feeling that she got when she was up so high, like she could look down on the world and be calm. It was one of the only places she could be calm and think about things.
Annie smiled as she thought about her tryouts to the team, and how excited she was when she got offered the position of beater on the team. She was so proud of herself and rushed to write to her parents to let them know. Of course they were proud of her too, unbelievably so. It seemed that her father was the most excited for her. Of course her mother and father worried that she'd get hurt, but they knew that she'd do her best and try and avoid injury. Her father wrote a letter, reminding her of the first time she sat on a broom, and how he felt, seeing the joy in her face whilst she was up there. He reminisced about his time on the team, how he felt, tricks he'd learned and how he wanted her to know that she could always ask for help off him if she wanted to practice or learn some new moves. Annie shoved her hands in the pockets of her shorts and grinned as she headed down to the broom cupboard to pick up her baby. She loved her broom, it was one of the things that she really cherished. She was always making sure it was alright and that the twigs were in the right place, and she polished it at least once a fortnight. Her dad had actually bought her that broom not long after she made the team. After all, he'd said that every good Quidditch player needed a broom to match their talent. Her feet took her easily to the broom cupboard, and she didn't even need to think about where she was going, her feet did it all for her, as she'd been there so many times, they had the path memorized, it seemed.
Annie pulled her broom out as careful as she could and did a mental check over to make sure it looked ok. Great. Next stop was the pitch, where she was meeting Matthew and Trevor. She didn't expect Schumacher to want to come along, and she didn't quite get why he had insisted, but it was probably so he could perv on her from such a high distance or something. She had no idea what else it could be. Anyway, Matt had also agreed to practice with her, and so she'd organised it for today, knowing the pitch would be empty. Thankfully, the cool air must have helped get rid of the sick feeling, because it was gone for the moment. Maybe she ate something bad earlier or something. Could have been the milk that tasted a bit off. What mattered right now though was that she felt perfectly fine. Her feet found their way onto the pitch and she walked over to where Matthew and Trevor stood, smiling as she did so. She was excited to get back up there again, it was as if the holidays had made her rusty on that broom. "Hey, what's occurring?"
Annie greeted the pair, smiling at Matt and then Trevor. "You came then?" she directed at Schumacher, still wondering what was in it for him. She couldn't see anything other than to be in her awesome presence, but she doubted that it was for that reason. "good to see you found your way, Potter, after all, it‘s been a while since you‘ve been here. And I know that as you get older, your memory starts to go." Annie teased, directing this at Matt with a nice smile to let him know that she was joking. There was no gosh golly way in the world he was going to let Annie around any other dude by herself. Not that he was obsessive or anything.. but when he heard she was going to be practicing Quidditch with Matthew Potter of all people, he instantly had to jump in. He knew what Matt was like. They had been friends for a long time. They were very similar to each other when it came to girls. That scared little Trevor. He did not want to share Annie one bit, so obviously he had dragged himself to the pitch to observe everything that went on. If he saw any sort of funny business he would make sure to do something about it.. but at the same time not be too obvious.
He wasn’t a big fan of Quidditch so he wasn’t going to join them up in the air. He’d make sure they would both stay within distance so he could see everything that went on. Sure, flying was fun, but he didn’t prefer it. He only wanted to use a broom if he had to, and right now he really wasn’t feeling it. During his time at Hogwarts he never really got into the sport like a lot of kids did. They took Quidditch pretty darn seriously and some threw fits when they didn’t make the team. Now if he was in America, back home, he could play all sorts of sports like baseball or soccer or something while he was at school. But no, he was stuck with Quidditch.
Trevor wasn’t going to be obvious with Matt on why he wanted to be at their little practice, but he was pretty sure the he could see right through him if he tried to lie about it. They had known each other long enough to figure that stuff out, most likely. He decided to use an excuse, anyway, stating that it was because he was bored at his apartment and liked watching people fly around because it amused him. He also wanted to see how you go about ‘training’ or ‘practicing’ for a sport. That wasn’t even close to the truth, though. He could care less about all of that stuff. He was interested in seeing how good Annie was at her position as beater, though.
“Jeez, how long does it take you? We’ve been waiting here for, like, twenty minutes,” he exaggerated. Of course he only said that sort of stuff to irritate her because that was one of the things he was best at, “And of course I came. I’m so fascinated in watching the two of you zoom around on your little brooms,” he replied sarcastically, “But no. Really. I did come. I’m bored at home and it seemed like it would be interesting to watch,” he lied. Look at her.. talking to Matt as if he was her best friend. That was disgusting. They were disgusting. She was teasing him. And smiling at him. His jealousy really needed to be tamed. He shouldn’t even be jealous in the first place, “Enough chit chat. Start.. doing that Quidditch stuff,” he interjected.

Matt had been quite surprised when Annie had asked him to bust into the castle to help her with Quidditch practice and even more so when Trevor had insisted upon coming too. The chaser was more than aware of their... activities, though he hadn't been counting on the seemingly protective nature that his friend was displaying. It wasn't as if Matt had any interest in Annie as a girlfriend but then he hadn't been interested like that in most of the girls he'd slept with. He was a shallow boy who focused only of two factors; appearance and sexual prowess. Personality was of little significance to him. He had no intention of staying with them after he'd slept with them. Mattie had his fun and left. Why did it matter if they were a bitch or not?
The red head finally arrived on the pitch and exchanged a short conversation with Trevor before turning her attention to himself. "Two and a half months dear, not that long." He knew she'd been joking but that had never stopped him talking before. Matt loved to talk, especially when people wanted him to shut up. It was even better when he shouldn't have been listening in to a conversation and he got to laugh as they flipped out at his eavesdropping. Matt was wearing his Quidditch robes in the hope that they would put him in the mindset for playing. Yeah, like that was the reason. Matthew was always in a Quidditch mindset and wearing the robes was his way of showing off his success. CREDIT Vicky @ Confronting the Faceless LENGTH 262 NOTES Fifth post with Matt. It wasn't like she'd wasted time doing nothing and just mooching around, she had been doing stuff to try and get rid of the crappy feeling that she had going on at the moment. She'd drank some goodness, in the form of orange juice of course, and then ate a small little something to line her stomach, and she figured that would be enough. It had probably helped a little, but not spectacularly well. Anyway, she wanted to make sure that she looked good. After all, she always wanted to look good, but especially so around Trevor, and of course she had managed it spectacularly, as always. "Oh that's so an exaggeration, right, Matt?"
Annie asked, turning toward her fellow ex Gryffindor. To be honest, Annie didn't understand Trevor's urge to be there anyway, considering that he'd never been a big fan of Quidditch, and he'd made that clear too. But he wanted to be there, and she wasn't going to say no to some more time with him. That was worrying. What was wrong with her, wanting to spend time with Schumacher? It was weird. She didn’t understand it, but the fact was that she didn’t mind his company. Why? She didn’t know. He could annoy her whenever he wanted, he could make perverted sexual references to her, and he could probably talk her into bed with him whenever he wanted. But he could also hurt her. He could hurt her so badly, and yet she still wanted him around. Explain that. "Fair enough, watch all you like. Just, don't get yourself hurt, alright? I know what you're like, knowing your luck, you'll attract danger." Annie teased, poking her tongue out at him. She couldn't help but smile though, it was like he was always managing to make her smile whenever she was around him. Kind of worrying, but she was getting used to it now. The fact that she was getting used to it was also worrying. God, a lot of stuff she was doing, seeing or accepting was worrying. Why did she have to do so many worrying things? And think so many worrying things too? Like the fact that she liked Schumacher. Alright, so maybe it was time to admit it to herself. She looked at him, her eyes meeting hers for a second. She liked Trevor Schumacher, in a way that meant she wanted more than sex and pancakes and witty conversation from him. She wanted him to be more than her verbal punch bag. In fact, she might go so far to say that she maybe more than liked him. Well, think. She'd never say that out loud, right? Why was that so easy to admit to herself? She'd been avoiding thinking that thought for a while, and yet it came upon her so easily, and she was so accepting of it. God, this had to stop. She had to stop thinking like this. He would never want her like she wanted him. He just wanted sex. That was obvious. "Long enough to forget your way, no doubt. I mean, they say that your memory always goes down at your age. And besides, I'm sure that one or two bludgers to the brain hasn't helped" Annie teased Matt. Of course she didn't mean it. They got on well, they were just always like this. They weren't as bad as Annie and Trevor though, oh no, Annie and Trevor teasing each other was a whole other level. She moved quick to peck Trev on the cheek, before turning to Matt, her grin on her lips. "Shall we, then?" She asked, before mounting her broom and kicking off. She threw a quick "Last one to the furthest goalposts is a flobberworm!" over her shoulder, with a small laugh. Yeah, that did make her feel like a six year old, but it was all in good fun, and she pushed ahead, going for the goalposts that she'd had in mind. She was going to enjoy today, no doubt. She felt like it had been years since she'd been on a broom, but at the same time it wasn't long enough for her to forget the feeling that she got as she scanned over Hogwarts grounds. Annie felt the familiar free feeling sweep over her. But that wasn't the only feeling, she felt sick again too. Damn it. She thought that had gone.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * why can't you understand ? There she went, talking to him again. With her dumb voice. Why couldn’t she just keep talking to him with her dumb voice? Haha, overreacting just a tad.. time to calm down. Maybe he needed a drink. Yes, that sounded swell just about now. Too bad he didn’t bring anything. Oh, well. He was stuck here to watch these kids fly around and such, “It may have been a bit of a.. hyperbole. No need to get trippy over it,” he joked. He rolled his eyes slightly, “Yes, I’ll be as careful as possible sitting down here,” he chuckled, “Let’s hope stupid spiders don’t end up crawling on me or something. Or a wild slobbering dog comes barreling out of nowhere and totally eats me alive,” he added randomly. Yes, because those were perfectly possible scenarios. Actually the first one was very possible. And he'd scream and run like a girl.
“I only attract hot women. They flock over to me like gum to the underside of a table,” he concluded with a small shrug of his shoulders. He had the sudden urge to poke her cheek when she smiled. Why did he always want to do that? Stupid. Dumb. Ew, why was she teasing him? She could only tease him. Ugh. This was going to be painful to watch. He wouldn’t be able to hear their flirtatious conversations from down here. Hopefully the unspoken guy rule would apply here. No dude would go for his bro’s girl. Then again technically Annie wasn’t his and Trevor had never actually had a girl that this rule could apply to. Maybe he could communicate to Matt with his eyes? No, lame. It wouldn’t work. Or maybe Matt just wasn't into her like that. Well, any guy should be into Annie. Damn, now he was paranoid again.
At least he got a kiss on the cheek. That was cute. It made him grin like a little toddler, though. That was disgusting. He plopped down on the ground and crossed his legs, watching as Annie mounted her broom. Flobberworm? What were they, first years? It would have been cute if she was saying that to him. He flopped down onto his back as he stared up toward the sky, his eyes glued to Annie.

The feeling she got as she kicked off into the air was a mixture of emotions, all cheesy in their own right, but she'd come to expect them now, and would be very disappointed if suddenly, for some bizarre reason, the feelings that she got as she was in the air would go away. It was odd to think that she felt safe up there, because theoretically it was one of the most dangerous places to be. Of course, as a witch, the danger was reduced slightly, as she'd carefully stowed her wand somewhere in her expanded shorts pocket. That was thanks to magic too, but there was no way that she could fit her wand in that pocket otherwise. There were spells for everything, almost, and that included a spell that could make something appear to cushion any fall that Annie sustained whilst on a broom. Or off a broom, depending on how you look at it. No, off a broom, that made much more sense. If she were on a broom, after all, there would be no problem. Not that she ever had a problem with falling off, anyway, as Annie hadn't fallen off that broom in the years that she'd been on the team. Well, ok, but never around people, so she didn't have to admit it. Although it was just one time. Since then, she'd survived making out with someone in the air. Yeah, that would be her very ex boyfriend, Chris, and that would also have been a long time ago.
As the wind whipped through her hair, a grin spread over Annie's face, and with a playful look in her eyes, Annie took to showing off and practicing some of the more interesting moves that she'd learned whilst flying. She turned herself easily into a loop the loop, and then eased off and span down into a wronski faint. Alright, so she hadn't mastered that one and pulled up a little earlier than the professionals would have, but she wasn't stupid, that move could kill you if you hit the ground hard enough. Levelling back up to her quidditch partner's height, Annie moved easily around, no flashy moves this time, and got ready for Matt to throw some things at her. Not literally. Well, actually, yeah, quite literally, although they weren't meant to hit her. She didn't get that far, however, as the nauseous and faint feeling overtook her once more, and her broom swerved a little, and not under her direction, either. Everything started to spin, and Annie looked down in search of help. Her eyes only found Trevor, however, and then he seemed to be getting closer and closer. Too close. Annie was falling fast, and her hands didn't make it to her wand in time to cast the spell. She turned as best she could to try and minimize the impact on places like her head, and that kinda worked.
Her body hit the ground pretty hard, and her arm got crushed beneath the weight of her. She hadn't really fallen far, but far enough to break it. Lying on her stomach was hurting, and she let out a groan. Without a word, Matt had joined them on the ground and ran off for help, leaving Annie and Trevor alone. "ah Merlin."
Annie groaned quietly, wondering what had happened. She had been fine, and then she felt dizzy, and faint, and then she fell. "Can you roll me over, please?" Annie asked, holding back any signs of pain as best she could. She didn't want to look weak, especially not in front of him.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * why can't you understand ? It was times like these that Trevor wished he had mastered the art of flying on a broom. It was fun and all, but just.. not his forte. He could never see himself doing those fun little stunts. It wasn’t that he was afraid of heights.. though it did look a bit dangerous. It just took too much talent. And he was talentless. Well, when it came to this sort of stuff. He’d probably be dead by now if that was him up there. Something about the way Annie effortlessly zoomed around didn’t even seem to worry him. Not that it should or anything. She made it look easy.
He rolled around randomly on the field for a couple moments before pausing to stare up at the two again. If he knew how to use a bow and arrow, he’d be going all Katniss on Matt’s ass right about now. Wow, no, what was even the point? He needed to tone it down, he was getting obsessively jealous. This was just an awful feeling. Why couldn’t he get rid of it? Maybe if he would repeatedly punch himself in the face, it would go away. He lifted his arm in the air, examining his hand before bringing his palm down hard across his forehead. Well that hurt.
Cringing from the smack he had just given himself, he managed to open his eyes right in time to see Annie… coming closer.. and closer. Without a broom underneath her. Was this real life? No, he had just whacked himself unconscious, and now he was in Dream Village. Or.. wait. Why was he just staring at the falling figure of Annie with his mouth hanging open? Was this what going into shock was like?
When he heard the painful noise of Annie meeting the earth, he bolted up onto his hands and knees and started desperately crawling toward her lifeless body. Kidding, it wasn’t lifeless. Thankfully, he could see some movement and heard a groan. By this time, Matt had already bolted off to find help. He was so going to blame this one on him.
“Holy sweet baby Jesus, what the hell was that?” he gasped as he made it to Annie’s side and kneeled there, almost scared to touch her, “Oh my freaking crap are you a ghost now? Son of a batch of cookies oh my god he killed you,” Trevor babbled, “Wait, roll you over? But what if you broke your neck? I’m not supposed to touch you. We have to put you on a stretcher. We have to call 9-1-1 and I don’t even get service out here and it doesn’t even work anyway and it’ll take forever for that damn ambulance to get here and.. and-” he had finally run out of breath and realized how truly idiotic and American he was sounding. He carefully placed one hand on her shoulder and another on her waist as he gently rolled her over onto her back, cringing as if even he was in pain from watching all of this unfold, “Just whatever you do, don’t go into the light.”

Yeah, she knew she was good, that was obvious, but she just imagined that she'd not be good enough. Of course she never showed this on the outside, and it all was kept locked inside. Annie wasn't one to show people when she wasn't confident about what she could do. And she could do it, very well, her beater skills had only improved, and from the second she'd jumped onto a broom in flying lessons, she'd been almost a natural. Her father had been on the team too and it made him proud to see his daughter doing as well as he had up in the air. She did make it look easy. It was more about reactions and confidence than anything, though. Annie found that if you panicked mid air, things tended to go wrong more. She never usually panicked, having faith in her insane ability to be awesome on a broom, which of course was what she was. Reactions were key too, because if the weather came and tried to knock you off, you had to react as best you can to combat it and not let the wind or rain or whatever, throw you off course. She hated flying in the rain though, her hair would get plastered to her eyes, so she took now to tying it back when she flew, just in case. Better to be safe than sorry when dealing with conditions that you couldn't control, and such a long way down.
And a long way down, it was. As Annie fell, she couldn't help but wonder if she would be alive or not when the body of hers hit the floor. She could feel it all, the wind rushing around her, whipping at her arms and her legs and not helping to slow her down at all, really. Annie tried to stay calm, but when falling so many feet in the air, that was a hard task to accomplish. Had she lowered her broom enough? If she'd concentrated, could she have got it any lower before the fainting feeling had taken over? Would that have helped? The sinking feeling was in the pit of her stomach, and then she hit. She kept her eyes closed for that second but when she opened them again, she wouldn't lie, she was very grateful to be alive. It could have been a lot worse. Trying to assess herself as best she could, Annie groaned and hissed as she moved parts of her body to check they were still working. Feet, sure, legs, pretty much, though she wouldn't dare stand up on them for a second. "I fell."
Annie pointed out, trying to throw in light, humorous tones in pointing out the obvious, but that was hard when you were in pain. "I'm not dead, thankfully. Who's 'he?'" Annie asked, unsure of who he was talking about. Had someone done something to make her fall? No, she'd been dizzy. What was he babbling on about? "Good luck with the 911 thing, I don't think they make house calls when we're in the UK" Annie pointed out weakly, trying not to laugh in case it messed up her ribs. She wasn't sure of the overall damage that she'd taken. But at least she was breathing. "Yeah, roll me over. Please?" Annie asked, sighing with relief as the pressure was taken off her stomach, and off her arm, which she could only assume was broken. It was nice to have him touch her too, even though the circumstances weren't the best. Annie was glad he was here. "Oh but the light, it looks so welcoming!" Annie teased, in a cheesy voice taken from one of those old movies with those old actors. Descriptive. "I joke. Matt went for a teacher?" Annie asked, assuming that's where her friend had rushed off to so suddenly. She hoped that he hurried up with that. The quicker she got to the hospital wing, the better. They could repair her bones in there, so the broken arm would be gone almost straight away, and hopefully there would be ointments or creams or something that she could chuck on her bruises to help them heal. If not, she’d heard that the Weasley’s store sold something similar, so she’d pop along there the first chance she got. She could just mail her parents, ask them to send some, but she wouldn’t want them to worry needlessly. Besides, if she had a scar or something, it would be a total tough girl look. While walking from her classroom down to the Great Hall, the last thing Evelyn had been expecting was to be tapped on the shoulder by a student and told that someone had fallen off their broomstick. She had been planning on grabbing something to eat and returning to her office to plan lessons she had already planned dozens of times before but apparently her presence was required elsewhere. The boy turned around and dashed back towards the doors of the Entrance Hall. Emblazoned on the back of his Quidditch robes was the word 'Potter' "Why am I not surprised?" she muttered under breath. Though she hadn't taught any of his relatives, she'd frequently heard of how anything that went pear-shaped at Hogwarts was bound to involve a Potter.
Eve pulled her wand out of her robes and followed the boy down to the Quidditch pitch. There she was presented with a very red-headed girl and a babbling wreck. She didn't recognise either of the two boys as students and as much as she'd liked to have known why they were in the grounds or even how they'd managed to get in, there were more important things at hand. Namely the aforementioned very red-headed girl. Judging by the awkward shape of her arm, it had been broken in the fall but that was the only immediate problem that the professor could see as she approached her.
"This is precisely why I never played Quidditch." Eve had often been tempted to hop on a broom and through some balls around but had never done so outside of her first year flying lessons, which had been a very long time ago. Instead, she had tucked herself away in the library drawing up family trees. Fun times. Evelyn flicked her wand sharply at Annie's arm and closer an eye in slight disgust as it flopped back into place and mended. She might have been a History of Magic teacher for all but a fraction of her life but mending bones was no trouble. She knelt down beside her to look at the arm more closely and check it had mended as it should do.
Her heartbeats sounded fine too... wait, heartbeats? Eve focused her attention on the opening and closing of valves and there was definitely an extra heartbeat. Judging from where it was coming from, the girl appeared to be pregnant. "Well your arm appears to be fine, as does the baby, but I'd recommend dropping into the hospital wing so the nurse can check everything." Though Eve had no professional training as a Healer, she'd witnessed plenty of medical magic being cast over the course of her teaching career and there'd been plenty of time to read up on and practice the spells for herself. At times she'd considered working in a hospital but ultimately decided against it on each occasion as her real passion was teaching.

It could only do more damage, and it felt like enough had been done. Holding her cuss words back, Annie bit her lip, drawing a little blood. This in itself brought a curse from under her breath. "Jesus mother F-"
Annie started to say, before she caught sight of a teacher and managed to cut her words off. "Sorry if you heard that professor" Annie managed a short apology, as the pain was taking up most of her concentration and she was trying not to roll off a stream of words of similar meaning. She had possibly broken a bone or two, so you know, you'd think that she'd allow herself that small comfort of swearing her head off, but she didn't want Trev to know it was hurting her so bad. She didn't know why, but she didn't want him to worry, even though it would be cute if he did, and even though he was unlikely to. Although he was a babbling mess, though probably just from the shock of seeing her fall so far, so damned fast. That was a disadvantage of being so small, you weren't so freaking wind resistant. Unfortunately, Annie falling so far, and so fast, wasn't the only thing that was going to shock Trevor today. What was due to come pretty soon, (no pun intended), would shock the both of them. They'd had a pregnancy scare in the past. Annie had missed a course, probably due to exam and or Qudditch stress, and she'd panicked and thought that she was pregnant. She couldn't even describe the emotions that had gone through her back then, but she was so scared. Annie couldn't help it, she hadn't left Hogwarts yet, and having a kid so young wasn't something that she'd pictured, so at the worry of being pregnant, she'd been distant and scared and kept to herself before telling Trevor and taking a test. In the long run it would probably have been better for her to take a test straight away but she couldn't, it was too nerve wracking and she wasn't ready to find out if she was. Luckily, that time, the test had been negative. Any sign of pregnancy after that time, Annie might have subconsciously dismissed, thanks to the first false alarm. So she'd failed to put together the symptoms that she'd had from the past week. "Oh come on Prof, it's not as bad as it looks" Annie spoke softly, with a weak smile. Painkillers, that was what she needed. Annie was so much more than grateful when her arm flopped back into place, and she could move her fingers again. Jesus, that was a damned relief. She worried then that something would go royally wrong and she'd never be able to take up a beaters bat in time for the next match. Annie didn't register the second part of that sentence for a second, so she pulled herself into a sitting position and flexed her fingers. "Thanks prof. See, good as new." Annie said with a cheerful grin. Just then, that second part of the sentance kicked in. "Sorry, I think I need to go to the hospital wing, I seem to have hallucinated then! I swore for a second that you said baby" Annie said with an awkward laugh, before her eyes widened. "Oh snap. No. Baby?" Annie asked again, wanting complete reassurance that what the teacher had said was right. "You can't be sure, can you?" Annie asked, her newly fixed arm moving to her stomach as she looked down quizzically, expecting it to be huge or something. At this point, Trevor was just relieved that Annie was still alive. Clearly, her wounds didn’t appear to be life-threatening. He had a knack for yapping on and on about nonsense, especially when he wanted to try and cover up any emotion he might be feeling. That could be perceived as the opposite in this situation, though, since his panic actually did come off as worry. It wasn’t like he was going to deny the fact that he was worried, though. Not to himself, at least. It was just, if she had broken all of her bones, then who would be his special hate friend?
He didn’t say much to Annie’s replies, but instead sat back on his legs as he kneeled, tilting his head to the side as he examined her to locate any severe injuries. Well, her arm was no good. Even though she was trying to hide it, he could tell she was in pain. And Annie in pain was a scary thought, because she was always so strong. It was rare to see her cry, and when he did he didn’t like it at all. It was a relief that she wasn’t bawling her eyes out, though. She seemed to be trying her best to keep up her badass persona.
Thankfully, a teacher arrived before he felt like saying something else that w as equally as stupid as the rest. He scrambled quickly to the side, out of the way. Of course, even though he had spent seven years at Hogwarts, his muggle-ness still shined bright. He was always panicking about the little things when magic seemed to fix everything. Like her arm, for example. He wanted to hurl as he watched her arm flop around as the professor mended it.
He let out a small sigh. Now he was beginning to blame himself. Annie was in pain because of him. Not Matt or something, though he would have loved to pin the blame on him. No, Trevor was the one who had let her come down here and fly around. He was the one who didn’t make an attempt to catch her falling body.. though that clearly wouldn’t have ended well.
Trevor was soon dragged away from his guilty and self pitying thoughts by one simple word. Baby. He blinked, thinking for a moment he had heard wrong. But from Annie’s reaction, she seemed to have heard the same thing. Holy bone marrow, there was absolutely no way. They had gone through this before, and it was just paranoia.
“No, no, Annie,” he began with a forced chuckle, “Clearly you need to clean your ears out. Did you damage those in the fall too?” he asked, a bit more harsh than he had intended, “She said ‘maybe’. It was like ‘you seem to be fine, as-‘ wait.. “ he trailed off with a furrow of his brow, ”As does the.. maybe? As is your broom.. maybe?” he glanced at the professor for clarification, not wanting to actually believe what had been said.

Though none of this had been any of her doing, Eve felt somewhere between awkward and guilty. Judging by their reactions to what she had said, the fact that the redhead was pregnant was clearly news to them. "I'm guessing you weren't exactly expecting a baby then..." She considered congratulating them but didn't particularly deem it appropriate, even if they weren't students (although she was still unaware that one of them had somehow managed to slip into the grounds).
"I'm fairly sure. But I teach history, what do I know?" Eve forced a laugh towards the latter part of her sentence despite knowing rather a lot. Though she had always chosen to teach History of Magic, sometimes having to put in a little extra effort to make sure there was a vacancy, she'd also had plenty of spare time to read up on other subjects. Medical magic had always seemed like a useful branch to look into and even if she hadn't, she'd been pregnant herself and certainly hadn't forgotten any part of that. Not that anybody could know of course, besides Michael. As far as everyone else was concerned, she was in her mid-twenties. Including her pregnancy in her (mostly) fictional past would just bring about questions - who the father was, where he is now, where the child is now, why she doesn't have the child. It was far easier to just leave it out completely.
"But yes, straight to the hospital wing, even if only to let them know you broke your arm. I doubt the matron will have a problem with my fixing it but they've probably got records somewhere they need to keep up to date." Evelyn stood up and brushed the light dirt from her knees. She gave a weak smile to the two of them, uncertain as to where the Potter boy had disappeared to, before walking back across the pitch towards the castle.

Internal injuries would be bad, she could like bleed internally and die and no one would suspect a thing. Well, unless they knew what they were doing, but she wouldn't have had a clue and thanks to wanting to keep her badass attitude and image up in front of Trevor, she'd have probably tried to get up and walk away as if she felt fine. Then she'd have like, died alone in a corridor and no one would know she was there and she'd be the next Gryffindor house ghost. Actually, that mightn't be so bad. If she was a ghost she'd be young forever and could spend her time scaring the first years and calling it their initiation into Gryffindor. That would be fun. She wouldn't have to deal with all the adults tuff like this. She wasn't going to cry in front of him though, and so she kept her thoughts on all the awesome stuff Annie the house ghost would do, in an attempt to fight back tears, and it did kind of work.
Annie sat up quick as he said the word broom. Where was her broom? Her broom was her baby, her uncle had bought her that. Was it ok? Maybe sitting up so fast wasn't good as her light headedness that she'd felt in the air came back. "Where is my broom?"
Annie asked, turning around looking for it. Ok, maybe this was an awesome way to distract herself from the reality that she now faced. It was easier to make herself think that 'baby' referred to her broom. It practically was her baby, she'd had it for a while and had gotten attached. Annie reached for her wand and didn't know if she wanted to do this to see what state it was in. "Accio broom" Annie said quietly, hoping her broom would be in one piece. Practically. It was almost in one peice. There was a little chunk out of the handle, and a couple of bent broom hairs. It was in better shape than her. A sigh of relief sounded from her lips, before her memory brought her back to their problem. "Not really. Is that what we're expecting?" Annie said, panic in her voice. She couldn't do this. They couldn't do this. They weren't really even a they, they were just duck buddies that had somehow gone wrong and now they were expecting a.. a.. she couldn't even think it, let alone say it out loud. "Hospital wing. Got you. The matron will tell us, right? I mean, you're a history teacher as you said, mightn't be right. Right?" Annie asked, choosing to not believe it unless the medic gave her concrete proof that they were expecting. "Thanks Professor" Annie murmured, before pulling her legs up to her chest and turning to Trevor. "Trev, what if she's right? What will we do?" Annie asked, daring herself to say that much, but not able to say the word, still. Baby. Baby? Really? Her and him and a baby? They'd be worse parents than the guys in three men and a baby. But they did turn out to be good parents in the end. Maybe... And then there were those feelings for Trevor that Annie was fighting. What would she do about that? He was her baby daddy and he was just a fuck buddy. But he wasn’t, really, was he? She cared more about him than she ever dared to let on. How did she let herself get into this situation. Her parents would be so disappointed in her. Annie started to cry. That was something else that she’d been fighting for a while.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * why can't you understand ? Trevor just sat, staring blankly at the ground as the two of them spoke. Though he looked like he was completely out of it at this point, he was actually listening intently to every word that left the professor’s mouth. Was she serious? It couldn’t be possible. Well, it could be.. he just didn’t want to believe it. They had already had this sort of thing happen to them before and that was frightening enough. His mind seemed to know exactly how to handle things if the professor had been joking or if he had heard her wrong, but it completely blocked any idea of what he would do if she were being serious.
At least her broom was okay. Not, he hated that thing now. It was the entire reason they were in this mess. He wanted to just break it into a billion pieces. If she hadn’t gotten up on that damn thing in the first place, she never would have fell. If she never would have fell, she never would have been in any pain or damaged a limb or had to call in the aid of one of the staff at Hogwarts. And then if that professor never would have come to the rescue, they wouldn’t have heard that stupid word. Baby. Ew.
A shame it wasn’t April first, then he could pass this up as an April Fool’s joke. He inhaled deeply to control any sort of emotions that he was feeling right now. He didn’t want to freak out and act like the world was ending or rage-quit life. He slowly turned his eyes back to Annie as she addressed him, the professor having left the area, ”What are we going to do? he repeated her question back to her as if it was the dumbest sentence he had ever heard, ”Obviously we’re going to throw a party and drink our weight in alcohol. After we're unbelievably shitfaced we can go adopt twelve gerbils and throw them at the wall for sport,“ he spat sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. Oh, no. He was being mean.
It was then that he realized while he was speaking, Annie had begun to cry. Shit. Trevor leaned forward and slowly began to crawl toward Annie, panic already flooding his system. It was his fault she was crying now, he figured. He hated that he managed to express his fear by being harsh and cruel, but the moment he saw Annie shed a tear, all those feelings went away. Instead, there was guilt. He always figured that the reason she was crying was because of him, especially in this situation.
He awkwardly wrapped an arm around Annie’s shoulders, hoping not to cause pain to any of her injuries. He was always so terrible at comforting someone, ”I’m sorry,” he began simply, ”But I say we just take you to the hospital wing, that’s the only way to.. know for sure. I can pose as a Hufflepuff so they don’t get suspicious,” he explained softly with a small sigh.

If it was the first of April and there was a way that her falling off was an accident she'd think that someone had set this up, but she'd felt faint and falling off was a result of that, it was no accident. If she hadn't fallen off though, herself and her special friend, Trevor, would have carried on living in blissful ignorance until she started throwing up tons and getting huge. Of course it kind of was better that she should find out now so she could stop doing things that would harm the... wait for it... baby, (wow, that sure was a struggle to think), inside her. Like Quidditch. Now that was something that she didn't want to give up, but she could have killed her child already with this accident, she was lucky not to have lost it then. Annie didn't know what else being pregnant required, but she guessed she'd have to see if she couldn't find some baby books in the library. But she didn't want to. That would mean that she would have to actually accept the fact that she was having a child.
No, not just 'she'. Not just 'her'. She wasn't doing this alone. He was in it too, and he looked terrified. Trevor didn't even look like he was comprehending what the professor was saying and Annie lacked the courage, for once, to say it all back to him again because she knew that it would make it more real for her. It couldn't be more real though, really, it was growing inside her. She was sharing her body with it. And in a few months, it would be pushed out of her and into the world and that would be painful and she would be screaming and swearing and Merlin knows what else. Annie couldn't handle thinking about it and so she shook thoughts of her future like that from her head. Annie heard his words and it only made her want to cry more, and this built up and up until she couldn't help it anymore. Annie hated crying in front of people, always had. When her grandmother had died she'd locked herself away to cry, instead of bursting into tears in front of her living relatives.
"gee, thanks Trev, cheers for actually offering me a freaking serious answer when it's what we need most. I'm so freaking scared, and all you can give me is 'lets fling some poor and helpless animals at a wall."
Annie spat back, clearly un-amused. What would her nanna say, she was so young and pregnant, and not even with a guy who was hers, really. They weren't even together, they were sleeping together. Just that. Annie couldn't even comprehend what she would think of her, but then again her Nanna would probably love her whatever mistakes she made. Annie realised that, and so was comforted by that at least. Great, the freaking father of her unborn child was talking about animal cruelty upon finding out. Of course she knew he was being sarcastic, that was something that she always was and so she recognised it, but she didn't need sarcasm, she needed reassurance. Reassurance that she wasn't doing this alone, that he was there for her, no matter what. Annie was glad that his arms moved around her but for a second, she did consider shrugging him off. To be honest though, she didn't have the strength to do so. Annie didn't want his arms gone, she liked the comfort of them there. "Ok, help me up?" Annie asked, not wanting to strain her arm too much, just in case. When she was back on her feet, she dusted herself off, retrieved her broom from the floor and walked with him toward the hospital wing. Alright, she was walking a little slow but she was so scared to hear what the nurse had to say. "I just fell off my broom, Professor Matthews helped mend my arm, but she said there was something else that.." Annie said to the nurse as she walked into the wing, unable to finish the sentence. Fear wasn't something that Annie was used to caving into. "She said there was a baby" Annie said, sucking in a breath. As the nurse led them to a bed, and removing Annie's broom. Annie lay quietly, before reaching for Trevor, trying to take a hold of his hand. She really needed him right now. The nurse cast the necessary spells and Annie let another tear slip from her eye, turning her head to blink it away in the hope that he wouldn't see it. "the professor was correct. The baby is healthy, you were lucky though, not to hurt it in the fall. No more flying for you, young lady. Other than that, she did a good job on your arm and the rest is just bruises, I'll go and get you something for that." The nurse said, before walking away for a few moments, leaving Annie and Trevor alone again. Annie sighed, giving Trev's hand a squeeze and standing up a little too fast, causing her to stumble a little as dizziness took over again. "Thanks for coming with me." Annie said, not knowing what else to say. "So. Don't care to answer the question I asked you earlier?" Annie asked, wrapping her arms around her stomach. Baby.
