we won't break, we won't die
IT'S JUST A MOMENT OF CHANGE. ALL WE ARE IS EVERYTHING THAT'S RIGHT.

annie looked a mess. she checked her reflection in the bathroom mirror as yet another visitor came and went through the bathroom doors, probably looking at her and wondering why she was here. she pulled her hair into a messy bun with a sigh. her eyes showed the lack of sleep that she'd had, and her lips were well bitten after all the hours of worrying that annie had experienced whilst sat at the cot of her baby, unable to hold her, for fear of hurting her. she was so fragile and small compared to the weight and size that she should have been, though at a month premature, that was to be expected. annie's body had barely recovered from the birth, but her baby was still on the edge. the nurse's said that they had to be careful, an infection or small bug could be the end of her thanks to her immune system not being developed enough to cope yet. if that happened, annie wouldn't be able to cope either. from the second she'd laid eyes on her beautiful baby girl, she'd fallen in love again. everything had seemed so clear, what she'd have to do to be the best mother, but it all hinged on her daughter getting stronger. the nurses were doing all that they could to encourage her body to get up to speed, getting her to drink whatever concoctions they could find that might make a difference. annie could only sit there, helpless. her hands brought water to her face as the worries crossed her mind again.
today wasn't the time to be negative. she was going to hogwarts today. not to school, just for a few hours to pick up some work. annie still wasn't sure what to do about school. the best option, and possibly the only one she had, thanks to a lack of income, was to leave school and try her best to get a job. annie did know the value of education however, and if she stayed on and got more qualifications, that would mean a better job, and better pay and better future for herself and more importantly, for her daughter. for now, the homework would prove a nice distraction to the worries that she had. she'd begged and pleaded the nurses to let her stay in with her child, refusing to leave until they conceded and gave her a bed. she didn't know how long that invitation would last. if something happened and her bed was needed urgently then she'd have to leave her baby and just visit within the usual hours. her heart probably couldn't take that. annie hated being away from amelia already, today would be hard enough. picking up her handbag from the side, she caught sight of the babygrows that she'd kept with her, as a reminder, maybe. they were there, already for the day that she could take amelia home. that day wouldn't come any time soon, unless the nurses saw a dramatic increase. they were doing their best to speed up the process, but some things you just couldn't rush.
annie sighed and tugged the sleeves of her sweater lower. it was the beginning of november, and she knew it would be sensible to pick up her coat from the ward before leaving st mungo's. she zipped her bag up securely and headed back down the corridor toward the ward where her daughter lay. annie's feet carried her over to amelia, and she leant down and placed a kiss on her forhead. "i love you sweetheart. mama will be back soon"
[/color] annie spoke softly, smiling at a nearby nurse before retrieving her coat from a nearby visitor chair. she shrugged it on and left the building, trying desperately not to cry. yep, her emotions had also yet to return to normal. annie reached the lobby and used the fireplaces and floo powder to get her out of the hospital and into the fireplace at her apartment building. she'd not stayed home since the birth of her baby girl and didn't intend to unless amelia was coming home with her. her feet next took her out onto the cobbled streets of hogsmede. from there, the journey to hogwarts was one she made without even thinking about it.today wasn't the time to be negative. she was going to hogwarts today. not to school, just for a few hours to pick up some work. annie still wasn't sure what to do about school. the best option, and possibly the only one she had, thanks to a lack of income, was to leave school and try her best to get a job. annie did know the value of education however, and if she stayed on and got more qualifications, that would mean a better job, and better pay and better future for herself and more importantly, for her daughter. for now, the homework would prove a nice distraction to the worries that she had. she'd begged and pleaded the nurses to let her stay in with her child, refusing to leave until they conceded and gave her a bed. she didn't know how long that invitation would last. if something happened and her bed was needed urgently then she'd have to leave her baby and just visit within the usual hours. her heart probably couldn't take that. annie hated being away from amelia already, today would be hard enough. picking up her handbag from the side, she caught sight of the babygrows that she'd kept with her, as a reminder, maybe. they were there, already for the day that she could take amelia home. that day wouldn't come any time soon, unless the nurses saw a dramatic increase. they were doing their best to speed up the process, but some things you just couldn't rush.

in fact, she may as well have still been in dreemland. her feet, apparently wanted to take her somewhere different to her original goal. she'd meant to go toward the teachers lounge, but her feet instead took her to the broom closet. it took her a moment to realise that she could fly again, before a smile spread across her face her hand reached quickly for the broom which she recognised as hers, and she almost ran back to the pitch from there. once the grass of the quidditch pitch was beneath her feet, annie swung her leg over her broom and kicked off from the ground, hard, eager to feel the rush of the wind on her face once more. and there it was, the feeling of flying. it was so freeing, annie couldn't believe she'd managed to go that long without feeling it. it was all for a good cause though. had she ignored the no flying rule, she probably would have risked losing her baby. she was lucky enough that her child had survived that one fall, let alone risking another. she took a while just flying like that, before she saw someone else on a broom, come up to greet her, and annie couldn't help but wonder who it was.[/div]
