PERSONALITY: Hotheaded - Unfortunately, Basil has a temper to rival that of an active volcano. When something sets her off she goes all out. Impulsive - When there is a dilemma or quest to be conquered, Basil Cyrus is your girl. She isn't exactly brave or courageous enough to be a Gryffindor, she just does things merely because "why the bloody hell not". This comes back to bite her quite often. Antisocial - Despite her loud qualities, Basil would rather spend time by herself than with others. She has severe trust issues and doesn't step outside of her box. Intelligent - Basil was identified in his first year of primary school as an extremely gifted learner. She has natural smarts, and doesn't need to work in school to get a good grade. However, this hinders her quite a bit. Since she is not challenged in school, she gives up on trying and often lets herself fall behind, simply because she isn't motivated enough to do anything. Dependable - Although she is no expert at making and keeping friends/relationships, Basil is one-hundred percent dependable. She doesn't trust others, but she can be trusted. BACKGROUND: Straight from the horse's mouth: “Where to start... I was born in on Hallowe'en of 2003 in Iverness, Scotland, and I'm quite happy to be back there when I'm not at school. It's just me and Dad, now that my older brother Caius is off studying Architecture in France. Mum died when I was two (Cai was ten); she was a firefighter and extremely dedicated to her job. It was tough, but I really don't remember it much. Anyway, because of dad's job we traveled a lot, so I didn't really get to make friends like a proper child. Cai already had friends; he's the charming one. I'm just smart little Basil. However, I had learned five different languages not counting English (French, Welsh, Latin, Italian, and Russian) by the time I was ten; this peculiar matter can only be explained by this next thought: that when I was in grade one my teacher thought it odd that I was spouting off bits of information that would be found in an adult conversation. I was identified as a “gifted kid”, and Dad took me out of school to homeschool me. One year later weird things started happening to me, things that I know now to be signs of a witch (though a year or two early). When I was eleven (in the year I was turning twelve) I was sent off to Hogwarts, sorted into Ravenclaw, and given a whole new panel of subjects to study.
