DATE OF BIRTH: July 30 SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. CURRENT RESIDENCE: Hogwarts. CURRENT OCCUPATION: Student. HOGWARTS HOUSE: Gryffindor. BLOOD STATUS: Halfblood (Pureblood + Halfblood). WAND: Apple, thirteen & a half inches, unicorn hair. PERSONALITY: Theatre is Lily's most passionate subject. Although, it's not a taught subject in school. Lily wants more than anything to be an actor, & she's been quite unimpressed that there really isn't much advertised opportunity for a budding young actor in the wizarding world. She loves classical theatre, but also has the vocal & dancing skills to do musicals. Lily is a pacifist. She doesn't believe in violence, & thinks that it will never solve anything. She respects that her parents & family members are war heroes, but doesn't want anything to do with it & certainly doesn't like that they had to go through all of that. If someone makes fun of her she pretty much just sits there & takes it. She's as tough as her mother but not as fiery. Lily is also painfully aware of the world around her, & the troubles that come up. She is empathetic & connects with others emotionally, which allows her to be close to a large group of people. She is also a shameless dreamer. She spends lots of her time lost in the clouds, like the sake of her first middle name. She's a little weird to some of her peers, & this is only confirmed by the way she dresses. Lily's attire is very dramatic & she changes styles pretty much daily. One week she'll be all about the World War II era fashion, then maybe next week it'll be black leather skinny pants & thick, smudgy eyeliner. She likes change in what she wears, but her hair is almost always the same. Lily has a lot of it, & it's very red & somewhat wavy, like her namesake's. It's rarely tied back or put up; instead she lets it fly around her & live its own hairy life. The top part is often braided back or pulled off of her face. There are some things that she just doesn't change. Like her father before her, Lily has a horrible case of curiosity & a need to have her questions answered. Though her questions are not as extreme, it is difficult for Lily to move on to another topic if the previous one is unresolved. BACKGROUND: "I don't have to tell you that Harry & Ginny Potter are my parents. I don't have to tell you that James & Albus are my brothers. You know all that. Both my parents fought bravely in the war & went on to do great things & then James & Albus were both & then there was me: weird little Lily Luna Minerva Potter. I'm named after three people, which is fitting because both my siblings are named after other people. I'm special though, because I have two middle names & Al & James only have one each. So, my first name comes from Dad's mother, whose name was Lily (or Lilian, I can never be quite sure). She died when he was only one at the hands of Voldemort, who I hear quite a lot of stories about & he sounds like a not-so-nice guy. My first middle name, Luna, is from Aunt Luna who is not really my aunt but she's Mum's bestestest friend so that's sort of the same thing. She fought in the war too. My second middle name comes from Minerva McGonagall, who I met a few times when I was little. She was Head of Gryffindor when my parents were at school, & I heard that she was an extraordinary woman. I have nicknames galore as well, like Lilypad, Lilyflower, Petal, Lil, & Lils. I adored hearing stories of when my parents were young; I found the true tales absolutely fascinating. However, there were very large footprints for me to fill. There was pressure beating down on me from every direction, except from where my parents and grandparents stood. They were happy with the superb little daughter they got; they didn't need me to be anyone else. When I was eleven years old, I was shipped off to Hogwarts World. Er, School. I have to admit that it was a great relief to be sorted into Gryffindor house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; I couldn't have imagined being sorted into any other house. I don't know exactly why, but it just felt like that was were I was supposed to be. I've never wanted to follow the paths of my parents. I don't support war in the slightest; I think it's great that our world isn't ruled by such narrow-minded people such as Voldemort & his Death Eaters, but I don't support war. I mean, Teddy's supposed to have parents. My Uncle Fred should still be alive. Uncle George should still have his ear. Dad's parents shouldn't have been murdered. Albus Dumbledore shouldn't have had to plan his own death, & Severus Snape shouldn't have had to kill him. None of that should have happened. I'm a pacifist & some call me an idealist. But, if we don't have dreamers to dream up a better world, we'll just be stuck with this one & it hasn't been working out so great. Growing up, I was the shy one out of the Potter kids. But when you have two boisterous brothers like James & Al, you start realizing that you're never going to get a word in edgewise anyway. I grew up playing Quidditch with my brothers & ended up a damn good Seeker, & I like Quidditch (I'm on the house team) but it's not what I want to do with my life. So, anyway, I was shy, & there wasn't really a lot that my brothers or cousins hadn't already done. But I found one thing: theatre. It's a more mundane calling, I know, but it's mine & it's what I'm good at. |
