That's a difficult question. I'm a Slytherin so... cunning, intelligent, driven, calculating? That sounds about right. I'm pretty straight-forward really. I say what I mean and I'm honest with people. I try not to care too much about what people think of me. Saying that sounds kind of negative, I mean I care about people. I care about my students, and my friends and family. I just don't see the point in trying to be something I'm not in order to make people like me. I don't have anything to prove. I suppose Ican be a rather solitary person sometimes. I like walks or going for a run and I enjoy being outside. I love the Forbidden Forest. I've had one or two close calls with creatures in there but I can take care of myself. I wouldn't say I'm a thrill-seeker but I'm definitely not timid. What more do you want to know? My favourite food is a Hawaiian pizza. BACKGROUND: I know usually this type of thing would start with when I was born, but I'd prefer to begin a little while before that. I want to tell you about my mother, a phenomenal woman. She was a great fighter of the Dark Arts with an amazing knowledge about dark creatures. You wouldn't know her name though, she wasn't famous. But she fell in love with a very famous name... Severus Snape. She was devoted to him, and stood by him and believed in him even when everyone thought he'd returned to follow He Who Shall Not Be Named. The sad thing is, he was in love with someone else and could never let her go. I think my mother truly believed that if she just kept being there for him then one day he would love her, but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. He was killed, as everyone knows. I was born seven months later. My mother raised me without magic; she hadn't known she was a witch until her twenties and believed it would instil humility, resourcefulness and strength in me that those who grow up with magic lack. I don't know if that's true but I am glad I was able to grow up without knowing about this whole other world. When I was twelve I got my letter for Hogwarts and so she had to tell me about my father then, at least some of it. I remember sitting under the sorting hat and all I could think about was my father. The hat wanted to put me in Ravenclaw but... well, I guess it was willing to listen to what I wanted. My time at Hogwarts was mostly uneventful. I was a pretty motivated student. Everything was so new and amazing I couldn't wait to learn a new spell or potion. I played quidditch too; I was a Beater, and played Seeker a couple times when our regular Seeker was out injured. I was Head Girl too. I loved Hogwarts. I guess that's why I decided to go back as a teacher. That, and, well, it seemed like Hogwarts should have a Snape as Potions Professor again. |
