The year was 2450, and the countries of Earth were no longer as we once knew them. They are propelled by a more efficient and advanced technology, that allows for even the longest of task to be completed within seconds. Cars, books and even medicine have all taken on a more futuristic form.
However that isn’t the only thing that has changed in the centuries that have past. Humans too have changed from what we once knew. Well, some humans anyways. Due to reasons unknown, some humans have been born with strange and sometimes even frightening powers. At first, this new phenomena was welcomed and accepted as a scientific wonder, however as time went on more and more mutants began to make themselves known, those without powers began to become wary and even fearful of these genetic wonders.
After some time, mutants who chose to reveal their powers were rejected by normal humans, or “norms” as they called them. It was only a matter of time before the tension finally built up, and snapped like a rubber band pulled too tight. Government officials decided that mutants were far too dangerous to let roam free, and secretly developed the Mutant Control Police force to round up any gifted human, or kill them where the stood. This division was made up of not only humans, but highly advanced androids designed to withstand any assaults dealt by mutants. Once captured, mutants were outfitted with special collars that suppressed most if not all their powers. Those who were not killed were sent to Hellsmouth prison indefinitely.
Ten years have passed since then, and the battle between humans and mutants has just begun...
