Ever since their first day at Hogwarts, MALFOY and POTTER felt the need to make everything a competition. They had no real reason to dislike each other except for their grandfathers not being the best of friends. Regardless of this, they made their way through the school being nothing but enemies and a pain in the backside to one another.
When POTTER collected his three closest friends - WEASLEY, WHITBY and ACKERLEY- in their fourth year and acted like a new brand of Marauders, MALFOY saw more of a threat in him than she ever had before. To ensure that POTTER didn't rise to rule the school, she formed a counter-attack from her own closest friends - FINNIGAN, WOOD and HOPKINS. As soon as POTTER found out, he declared war on MALFOY and her group and she was more than happy to retaliate.
Over the next two years, the eight students found themselves in more trouble than they'd bargained for . It had come to the point when any mishap in the castle was nearly always correctly assumed to have come from another skirmish between the two groups. Over the holidays preceding their seventh and final year at Hogwarts, POTTER discovered that the group he had been inspired by had been Animagi. He decided almost instantly that the only way he was going to beat MALFOY was if they learned that branch of Transfiguration and so set ACKERLEY straight to work on finding out how when they returned to school.
HOPKINS passed ACKERLEY in the library with an armful of books on Animagi and Transfiguration. Slightly suspicious as to why he had practically every book the library had on that subject stacked up in front of him, she reported back to MALFOY. It didn't take her long to figure out what POTTER and his friends were up to and set HOPKINS to the same task. When ACKERLEY realised what HOPKINS was doing, the two of them started arguing in the library. Determined not to have any explosions or fires started in the room, the librarian kicked out both of the Ravenclaws and banned them from the library until further notice.
What will they do now? The best brains can't access the information without sending someone else to retrieve the books they need and this will surely delay them significantly. Will MALFOY find a way to beat POTTER once and for all or will she fall at the last hurdle? With their grades also suffering due to their library ban, will ACKERLEY or HOPKINS still want anything to do with either group?
